Troubleshooting
This chapter collects common issues and diagnostic directions.
Platform search returns no results
Possible causes:
- The search term is too narrow.
- The platform is disabled in Settings > Platform Sources.
- The platform timed out or is temporarily limiting access.
- The current network cannot access the platform.
Try:
- Use a shorter English keyword, for example change "late-night city neon aerial footage for short-video editing" to "city night view".
- Open Settings > Platform Sources and confirm the platform is enabled.
- Temporarily increase search timeout from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
- Paste the video URL directly and use link import.
URL probing fails
Possible causes:
- The link is not a video detail page.
- The video requires login, membership, or regional access.
- The platform is challenging or rate limiting requests.
- The video has been taken down.
Try:
- Confirm in the browser that the video can play normally.
- If login is required, sign in to the platform in the browser first.
- Copy the full URL from the browser address bar.
- Retry later.
Local video import fails
Possible causes:
- The file path does not exist.
- The file was moved or deleted.
- The app does not have read permission.
- The video file is corrupted.
Try:
- Confirm in Finder or the file manager that the file still exists.
- Move the file to a normal video directory and retry.
- Avoid importing a file while another app is still writing it.
Analysis is slow
Adjust these settings in Settings > Analysis:
- Use OmniLume Classic, or confirm OmniLume Vision's window size fits the current video.
- Increase frame sample interval, for example from 2 seconds to 5 seconds.
- Change AI reasoning effort from "High" to "Medium".
- Lower AI analysis window concurrency.
- Lower concurrent task count.
If you only need a quick rough pass, use faster settings first, then rerun important videos with finer sampling.
Video cannot play
0.3.2 prioritizes the desktop native player for source-video preview and does not need to prepare an extra playback copy first.
Try:
- Open the video detail drawer.
- Click the play button in the preview area at the top.
- If the embedded player cannot start, click Open in system player.
- If the system player also cannot open it, check whether the original file still exists at the local path, whether the external drive is mounted, or whether the platform download file still exists.
Analyzed scenes cannot be found
Possible causes:
- The video is still being analyzed or indexed.
- The query is too narrow.
- The topic filter scope is wrong.
- The local retrieval index is damaged.
Try:
- Open Tasks and confirm analysis has completed.
- Use a shorter description that is closer to the visual content.
- Clear the topic filter and search again.
- Open Settings > Maintenance and click Repair local search.
Clip or collection export fails
Common causes:
- Source video path is missing.
- Source video file is no longer on disk.
- The app cannot find ffmpeg.
- Video trimming timed out.
- Source file is corrupted.
Try:
- Confirm that the local path in video details still exists.
- If it is a platform video, import or download it again.
- Shorten clip ranges or reduce the number of clips exported at once.
Today's quota is used up
When signed out:
- Sign in to potentially get a higher quota.
When signed in:
- Wait for the next daily reset.
- Avoid starting too many analysis tasks at the same time.
Update check fails
Possible causes:
- The current runtime is not the desktop client.
- The update channel has not been configured.
- The network cannot reach the update service.
- New version metadata has not been published yet.
Try:
- Confirm you are using the official desktop client, not browser dev mode.
- Retry later.
- Download the latest installer from the product website.
